HEART OF GOLD – Guitar Lesson

Most of us would agree that we like to surround ourselves with caring people. If it's our spouse … that's good fortune. If it's our children …. then we've taught them well. In 1972 Neil Young released a hit song from his iconic "Harvest" LP, and … following this notion, it became a folk/rock classic! Here's your Heart of Gold guitar lesson!

Repeat twice:
Em Em Em Em Em Em D D Em
  / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / /

I've been a miner for a heart of gold
Em C D G
It's these expressions I never give
Em G
That keep me searching for a heart of gold
C G
And I'm getting old
Em G
Keep me searching for a heart of gold
C (riff) G
And I'm getting old

Jackson,

THANK YOU SO MUCH for this lesson…this whole website, in fact.  I am retired, not much money and not many friends left anymore….. so I finally have the time and patience to TRY to learn guitar. Don't have many resources but I have this old computer and an old  beat up guitar handed down from a friend who has since passed on……but he could make it sing!  My arthritic fingers don't work so good anymore, but I while away time on the lessons you make available and so easy and fun that even I (with no talent or training) can understand. Can only do a little every day, my hands get stiff after a while……

Neil Young is one of my all time favorites and I never would have dreamed that I could ever even get close to strumming anything of his until you came along. I'll never be a great guitar player, but I am striving to become at least  a passable strummer and I think with your help I'll actually make it someday.

Thanks for all you do,

Marcella
