I always have problem figuring out the strum patterns. Can you please do some songs and tell us what the strumming patterns are?? Thanks
Hi Kim! WILD THING is basically …… down down followed by a quick up/down/down. Sorry for not making that clear.
Thanks alot for making this song so easy to learn! This is the first full song I've been able to play on my guitar!
hi, great wild thing lesson but i really am new to guitar and i can't figure out your strum pattern without seeing it. could you give me a strum pattern diagram please??
Hello Leigh. I apologize for that … some of my early lessons are a bit lacking in strumming clarity or showing what the right hand is doing … WILD THING is basically …… down down followed by a quick up/down/down My membership site songmentor.com handles strum patterns very very well! But you will find that the FGM lessons will get better also.
i have to laugh, i always thought there was more to this tune ,always wanted to learn it ,but i never thought i could learn it, your style of teaching is so good for kids just starting out ,especially for us old guys at 60 yr old. now i can play this tune thanks so much.
Hi Jackson,
Great song to learn bro. As you said, this is the most sexy three chord song to play. To the rest of my fellow students, if you listen very carefully to the strum, you can hear what Jackson is doing. Strum up or down, just try to listen. It isn't hard to do. Keep on rocking in the free world!!!
THX again Jackon, you rock man
Yeah … sexy but you’re right .. the strumming needs to be correct for sure!
when this song was popular in the 60"s my neighbors had a band, they played this song every night. now i can learn to play it. thanks very much. Bob
Yes Bob! It’s cool that songs have a way of triggering special memories!
Hi Jackson,
Just recently stumbled onto your site & just wanted to say thanks for sharing your knowledge with us novice guitarists. I just learned this song & watching your video really helps reinforce things!
Thanks Trisha ….. you’ll be a non-novice in no time!
